Deriv Digit Analysis Tool: Read 20, 200 and 500 Ticks
A Deriv digit analysis tool counts the last digits of market ticks and groups them by contract. DTide shows live frequencies, Even/Odd balance and Over/Under or Matches/Differs context. This guide explains what those numbers mean, how to compare sample windows and which checks belong before a demo trade.

How to open the free digit analysis tool
Open the DTide Analyzer, choose a supported synthetic index and wait for the stream to connect. Start with the 200-tick display, then compare it with 20 and 500 ticks. The selected display window changes the observed counts; the shared contract engine may use up to 500 ticks for its estimates.
Choose Even/Odd, Over/Under or Matches/Differs to inspect the exact contract family. A price such as 123.456 ends in digit 6 when the instrument is quoted to three decimal places. The market precision matters: do not remove a trailing zero before identifying the last digit.
What changes between 20, 200 and 500 ticks?
A small sample changes quickly. A larger sample gives each new tick less influence. These are overlapping views of the same stream, so agreement between them is useful context rather than independent proof.
| Window | Use it to inspect | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| 20 ticks | The most recent sequence and short bursts | A few ticks can create a large percentage change |
| 200 ticks | A broader digit distribution | A recent change can take longer to appear |
| 500 ticks | The longer rolling context | Older ticks can dilute the newest movement |
Worked example: 14 even digits out of 20
Fourteen even digits divided by twenty observations gives an observed Even share of 70%. It describes those twenty ticks. It is not a measured 70% chance that the next digit will be even. If the 200-tick window contains 104 evens, its observed share is 52%, showing how different the recent burst is from the broader sample.
Separate the observed share from the contract estimate and its fair-rate baseline. The fair rates below assume equally likely digits. Actual broker prices determine the break-even rate of a particular quoted contract.
| Contract | Winning last digits | Uniform baseline |
|---|---|---|
| Even | 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 | 50% |
| Over 2 | 3 through 9 | 70% |
| Under 7 | 0 through 6 | 70% |
| Matches 4 | 4 only | 10% |
| Differs 4 | Every digit except 4 | 90% |
Compare the payout before judging the percentage
For a fixed-stake binary contract, break-even win probability equals stake divided by the total payout on a win. A $1 stake with a $1.85 total payout needs about 54.1% wins to break even before any other applicable costs. A displayed 53% sample share does not establish an advantage against that quote.
Use the actual contract side, barrier, target digit and duration when recording results. Over 2 and Over 7 are different contracts; merging their win rates hides both the base probability and the payout difference.
Move from the analyzer to a controlled demo session
Choose the matching native specialist: Parity for Even/Odd, Barrier for Over/Under or Target for Matches/Differs. Review the market, fixed stake, duration and session limits before pressing Run. The analyzer itself does not place an order.
Compare confirmed wins, losses and net return over a recorded session. An order waiting for broker confirmation is not a win or loss. Keep it separate from settled performance and investigate the connection or history status if confirmation is delayed.
Common questions
Is the Deriv digit analysis tool free?
DTide currently offers its analyzer and native bots without a subscription or bot purchase fee. Real trades still use funds in your connected Deriv account.
Does a frequent digit become more likely on the next tick?
A rolling frequency alone does not establish the next-tick probability. Test any proposed relationship prospectively against the exact contract and payout.
Can I use the digit analyzer for Gold or Forex?
Gold and Forex strategies use full prices and completed candles. Their direction rules are separate from last-digit parity, barriers and target digits.
